Where We Came From. Who We Are Today!

What would eventually become the Potomac Ridge Riders Motorcycle Club was founded in the post-James Dean era, when the ruggedness of the iconic Marlboro Man dominated American culture and most people associated motorcyclists with full-grain black leather, a pack of smokes on the shirt sleeve, and an outlaw image.

We’ve got a bit of that in our blood, as do all motorcyclist! But our founders created the club driven — not by a lust for hair-raising exploits — but by a vision of fostering friendships with buddies — while riding with the sensibility of a Tribal Elder. These same values govern the Potomac Ridge Riders MC today!

The club’s origin dates-back 50-years to 1963 when it was founded as the Tri-State Chargers Motorcycle Club.  Four years later, we incorporated and became the Play Boys’ Cycle Club, Inc.  At the turn of the new millennium, the club once again reinvented itself, becoming Old Line Motorcycle Club, Inc. – a reference to a nickname for the state of Maryland.  However, as we continued to promote the sport of motorcycling, the club began doing rides throughout the Potomac River region.  Hence, in 2012, we became the Potomac Ridge Rider’s MC!

Street or trail, commuting or competing, our members love to ride.  We have toured from the Rockies to the Alps, and from Nova Scotia to Daytona.  We have ridden BSA’s, on enduros and Ducatis at the race track.

The Potomac Ridge Riders MC is always looking for new members who are ready to carry on our tradition of riding, collecting motorcycling memories, and building lifelong friendships.
